We welcome a new sponsor to the Club and a new weekly award for all teams.
I recently had the opportunity to meet with Evan Hewitt, the owner of two restaurants called General Public Food Co ( www.generalpublicfoodco.com.au ) with their first site having opened in Scarborough a few years ago and more recently they have opened a store on Beaufort Street in Inglewood. They are a community based business and have supported numerous local sporting clubs in the Scarborough area and we are pleased to announce that they have come on board this year as a sponsor of the Morley Bulldogs Junior Footy Club. They have kindly offered to provide support to every single team at the Club via a weekly Guts and Perseverance Award which will see the worthy winner shouted a free pizza for being a "GP Award Winner". At General Public they think having 'G'uts and 'P'erseverance is a pretty cool thing and they think it's what matters most.
Evan is very passionate about footy and a number of your may recognise the name (*hint - he may have played a few AFL games in his day!) and he currently serves on the Committee at Wembley Downs Junior Footy Club where he is the Female Football Co-Ordinator. As a result he has an intimate knowledge of the work that goes into running a footy club.
You can check out the graphic below as to what the official definition and criteria are for the award(s) that we will be handed out each week to a player in each team at the Club by the coaches.
At General Public Food Co they serve takeaway food and coffee in the morning and then have a full lunch and dinner service menu. It's a famiy friendly venue with an excellent menu and as a ceoliac myself, I was pleasantly surprised by the gluten free options available! I expect the parents will also enjoy what's on tap whilst the kids tuck into a pizza or two... At the Doggies, we proudly support those that support the Club so be sure to get down to their new Inglewood store and check it out! #generalpublicinglewood #whyweplay #familyfootyfun #gpaward
